A Criticism of Life
It won’t be enough.
Why doesn’t Alan run off to Borneo
or some other place, with his girlfriend?
Or fall in love with Gillian?
Even that’s not much. Love doesn’t translate.
After the first argument or forgiveness,
it’s almost impossible to reconcile
what you wanted to do
with what you’re got in front of you.
You really have to think of something else.
